James Rind MSc MCSP - Chartered Physiotherapist & Director
James qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist in 1999 with a Master’s Degree from Glasgow Caledonian University having first completed a BSc (Hons) Biochemistry degree from Cardiff University. He worked within the University Hospital of Wales and quickly specialised in Musculoskeletal Medicine. His training continued at Frenchay Hospital, Bristol, Chelsea and Westminster and Queen Mary's Hospital in London. James has been a team physiotherapist for the Welsh Women's Hockey Association and worked within both hospital and community settings. He is specifically interested in the management & assessment of spinal problems and occupational health.
Elin Rees BSc MCSP - Senior Chartered Physiotherapist
Elin graduated from Salford University as a Chartered Physiotherapist in 1999. She worked for the Cardiff and Vale NHS Trust for 8 years and gained experience in a wide variety of clinical settings. She held the position of team leader of the Orthopaedic Physiotherapy department and subsequently of the Trauma Physiotherapy department at the University Hospital of Wales. Elin joined James Rind Physiotherapy in January 2007 and specialises in the assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions, ergonomics and is also qualified to practice acupuncture. Virginia Williams MCSP - Senior Chartered Physiotherapist
Virginia qualified from Leeds School of Physiotherapy in 1988 and started work as a junior physiotherapist at UCH London. She then worked at Ealing and Queen Marys Roehampton as a senior physio in orthopaedics and out-patients. After 10 years in the health service Virginia went into private practice in London and the midlands before moving to Cardiff in 2003. Virginia was the physiotherapist for London Welsh RFC from 1992-1997 and worked at the World Student Games in 1992.On moving to Cardiff Virginia worked at Glamorgan CC treating private patients and players and was second team physio.She joined James Rind Physiotherapy in May 2009 and specialises in sports injury management and musculoskeletal problems.
Alyson Matheson MCSP – Senior Chartered Physiotherapist
Alyson qualified from Cardiff School of Physiotherapy in 1987. She worked for Gwent Healthcare NHS Trust for 22 years. She specialises in Musculoskeletal Medicine and has held a number of positions including Superintendent Physiotherapist at Chepstow Hospital and later in Musculoskeletal Outpatients at St Woolos Hospital, Newport. She has completed numerous post graduate courses in acupuncture, muscle imbalance, Cyriax & McKenzie concepts. Alyson joined James Rind Physiotherapy in 2009, she specialises in the assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions including sports injuries and degenerative conditions.
Caroline Hazard - Senior Paediatric Physiotherapist
Caroline studied at the University of Ulster where she obtained a BSc Honours in Physiotherapy in 1987. She is a specialist Paediatric Physiotherapist with 18 years of experience in this field. She has completed many postgraduate courses including the Bobath Course (London 1991) and a master level, postgraduate certificate in Posture Management for Complex Disability.
Caroline treats children of all ages who have a range of conditions such as Cerebral Palsy, Muscular Dystrophy, developmental delay, respiratory conditions and problems arising from poor "core stability". Caroline believes that Physiotherapy treatment for children should be fun with an emphasis on learning through play, especially for younger children. She aims to work in partnership with parents to help their child achieve his or her physical potential.
Sadie Davies - Office Manager
Sadie joined James Rind Physiotherapy in May 2009. She brought with her a weath of expereince from a number of large national organisations. Sadie manages the Cardiff Bay office and runs the James Rind Physiotherapy reception desk.
